The bees love our Giant chives

We visit the allotment regularly whatever the weather.  It's amazing what a session of a couple of hours can accomplish, whether it's planting, weeding, watering or just enjoying the peace and quiet.

We had a very productive session today with the help of the Mitzvahs and Marrows crew.

The broad beans are ready to harvest and the garlic and shallots are thriving.

The gardening season is really getting going now.

 Daffodils make a splendid welcome to the plot

 Purple broccoli doing well in the greenhouse.  I tried some and it was very tasty but reverts to green in the cooking process

Preparing for a new year at the allotment

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat and purchase from us at the NoshFest.   Although we didn't make much profit, we were able to raise awareness of the Rainbow project.  It was also difficult to compete with other stallholders offering such freebies as ice-cream, curry, fruit kebabs and wine!

Work has begun again in earnest on the plot and we hope to grow a variety of crops.
