A new broom ....

Well, you know what they say about a new broom

Let the season commence

It was a pleasure to be at the allotment today.  We were greeted by: 

a host of golden daffodils

 ...... and happy hens in the communal coop

 strutting their stuff

Our signage is in place

and the kale has germinated

No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow. ~Proverb

After a period of near hibernation, Rainbow Allotment is springing back to life. 

Today, we staked the broad beans, watered the seeds in the polytunnel and fed the fruit canes.

The daffodils should be out by next week, if the weather forecasters are to be believed.

The communal chicken coop has arrived at the site and a run has been constructed which has had to be safeguarded against foxes and birds of prey.
